The Ovate Gas Tank started life as a traditional Axed gas tank, but we narrowed up the profile for the right look. We took a wedge out of the center of the gas tank, narrowing the front by 1 inch and keeping the rear the same width. We also moved the 1/4 inch NPT petcock bung to the far rear on the left side to allow you to use every bit of the gas in the tank, which holds 1.6 gallons.

The filler bung was changed from a cam-style bung, which only allows for one or two styles of gas caps, to thread-in Harley-Davidson style gas cap. This allows for many different styles of gas caps to be run on this tank, in a variety of materials including chrome or black steel, brass or aluminum! There are thick, D-shaped mounting tabs front and rear with slots in them for 5/16 inch hardware.

These Super Narrow style gas tanks are top quality, heavy-gauge steel and are built to last. They look excellent on narrow lanesplitters, choppers and custom motorcycles built for high speed and good times.

This gas tank will simply bolt-on to 1986-2003 Harley-Davidson Sportsters using Lowbrow Gas Tank Adapter Brackets. No welding, drilling, or modification necessary! This Lowbrow gas tank was designed for universal use as it can be mounted on any other motorcycle frame with basic fabrication techniques, such as welding some threaded top hat bungs into the backbone of your motorcycle frame.
